Gods, my 2-year-old German grammar is so pathetic and dramatic, I think it's the most hilarious thing ever. XD I just try to pull together words I know to make a coherent topic, I swear!
Anyways~
I've been doodling a lot lately, mostly like, face stuff. Eyes, noses, lips, and I've recently moved on to eyebrows. Semi-realism is so cool in so many ways! Like, instead of big-eyed "cute and pretty" (Janice knows.) characters that all look the same minus maybe some body things and hair styles, you can experiment and make people awesome. XD I love awesome. Awesome kicks ass. So like, this is what I've figured out so far about myself.
- I don't like drawing the upper lip. At all. I might make a gesture line to indicate its there, but I don't like it. It bothers me.
- Semi-realistic eyes for the WIN. Are you serious? Who wants real eyes when you can have natural mascara 24/7? 8D !!
- Noses. Are. So. Much. Fun. They're really frustrating to get at first, but after that little period of awkward trying to figure things out, a lot of experimenting can be done to like, totally make characters different via noses. Win.
- I gotta re-learn face proportion. I literally learned it out of a Western-ized Shoujo book by Christopher Hart and now that I try to make my eyes less HUGE and blown-up ish, it's kinda hard for me to position everything. And, you know, noses aren't sideways check marks anymore, so that's throwing me off, too. ._.
- Eyebrows are fun. xD<3

I draw Ria a bunch, just 'cause I'm comfortable with her design and she's fun, and I've actually gotten annoyed with the old way of drawing her hair. XD And she smiles a lot more in my doodles now, too. x3<3

*nods* Key thing you gotta remember is the only way to make characters look different is to NOT make them perfect. So you gotta dare to make your people ugly. ;D
I'm interested to see how your people will look with those semi-realistic eyes!
.. Andyay. Ria finally gets to smile. 8D
Ria smiles a lot. Just not when I draw her. D: Idunowhy.
Andlmao, they look almost the same, I just like, do weird stuff with the pupils. AND I DREW AN UGLY OLD MAN. YAY ME.
or give them each their own distinct feature. that's kinda what i do.
i hope your eye escapades go better than mine. just be glad that you don't have super-obsessed-with-realism teachers behind your back all the time. :[
i can't wait to see this newly developed style in action! fufuf.
